About The Joey Nevada Band
Joey Nevada has always lived the life of a true country boy. Family, friends, good times, and the outdoors; that's what life is all about. Joey started writing music in 2015 and never looked back. After meeting James Brickey in the summer of 2016, the two started playing shows together as an acoustic duo and began recording songs Joey had wrote. Later that year came "Never Heard The Words EP", a six song album produced by James in his home studio. They formed the rest of the band by recruiting James's brother Justus Brickey on bass and Rob Shields on drums. Their live show became a hit around home and they quickly spread amongst the east coast, playing shows alongside acts such as Ryan Upchurch, Big Smo, The Lacs, and more. The single "The Feeling" released in March of 2017.
Taking time off the road, work began on a full-length album in June of 2017. The album took six months to complete, and was produced, mixed, and mastered by James. Two singles, "Sweet Southern Ride" and "Like Me" released via social media in January and February of 2018, with "Sweet Southern Ride" quickly becoming a fan favorite. The full album released on March 30th, 2018 to great reception and reviews, with a highly anticipated release show at the historic Reeves Theater in Elkin, NC. Fusing modern country with southern rock, pop, and gospel roots, the pairing of Joey's and James's writing styles is uniquely original, bringing a new twist on country music with "The Ride."
